Bahrain’s Ijara Murabaha Sukuk Issue Oversubscribed by 180%, Says CBB

The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that its latest monthly issue of the short-term Islamic Ijara Murabaha Sukuk was oversubscribed by 180%.

According to the CBB, subscriptions totalled BD54.063 million for the BD30 million issuance. The Sukuk has a maturity period of 364 days.

The issue will commence on 27 July 2026 and mature on 26 July 2027. It offers an expected return of 5.52%, compared with 5.34% for the previous issue issued on 29 June 2026.

The CBB stated that the Ijara Murabaha Sukuk are issued on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This issuance is Issue 12IM/8 (BH00019237Y7) in the short-term Ijara Murabaha Sukuk series.
