Indonesia’s Broad Money Maintains Positive Growth in June 2026

Bank Indonesia announced that Indonesia’s broad money (M2) continued to record positive annual growth in June 2026, although the pace moderated compared with the previous month.

According to the central bank, the M2 position reached Rp10,432.8 trillion in June 2026, representing annual growth of 8.7%, compared with 10.8% year-on-year growth recorded in May 2026.

The latest M2 performance was supported by continued expansion in its main components. Narrow money (M1) increased by 9.8% year-on-year, while quasi-money recorded annual growth of 6.9%.

Bank Indonesia stated that developments in broad money during June 2026 were mainly influenced by growth in disbursed loans and net claims on the central government.

Disbursed loans grew by 12.1% year-on-year in June, accelerating from 10.8% recorded in May 2026. The central bank noted that the loan figures are limited to loans and exclude loan-type financial instruments, including debt securities, banker’s acceptances and repo claims. The data also exclude loans disbursed by offshore branches of locally incorporated commercial banks, as well as loans extended to the central government and non-residents.

Meanwhile, net claims on the central government increased by 10.1% year-on-year, following annual growth of 37.4% in May 2026.

Bank Indonesia said additional statistics on broad money and related analysis are available through its official statistical publications.

The announcement was issued by the Communication Department of Bank Indonesia in Jakarta on 23 July 2026 and was signed by Ramdan Denny Prakoso, Executive Director.
